If Texas goes 2-10 (currently tied 31-31 with ISU in the 4th), could Strong be out in one year?

Think about this.

Texas

2-10

Is that even possible? If ISU gets them, Texas Tech may be their only real chance at hitting 3 wins.

Even if he was white I'd say no chance.

No. Strong is a good coach. But he is changing them the hard way. I think most Texas fans realize that.

I see what Strong is doing, and I agree given time they could become a power again under Strong, but does the Texas brass have what it takes to sit through that kind of rebuilding?

Dallas Cowboys sat through 1-15. That's the type of NFL team that wouldn't tolerate a one win season.

If Texas is smart they'll be patient regardless of this year. A win tonight and 2-10 doesn't happen. I think they can beat Tech. They've showed glimpses of playing very well - OU game, defense against Baylor, outplaying UCLA.

I could see this team being bowl eligible next year.

Changing a team from the bottom up takes time. If they're this bad in year 3, he gone.

This is a tough rebuilding process to commit too. Could be year 3 before Texas hits 9 wins again. With some of the more recent quick turn arounds elsewhere that's got to be tough to swallow. Texas is a unique situation though.

Strong took over a program with cancer. It takes a lot of effort and some time to cut out all of the cancer

He at least has them playing hard. They have some talent and a nice QB prospect

They'll go 4-8 this year. (Currently 3-4)

at Kansas State - LOSS (3-5)
at Texas Tech - WIN (Tech just can't beat them for some reason: 4-5)
West Virginia - LOSS (4-6)
at Oklahoma State - LOSS (4-7)
TCU - LOSS (4-8)

Mirror image of Franchione's first year at A&M

Unfortunately for Strong, he loses 11 senior starters at the end of this season. On the defensive 2-deep, he loses 2 starting D-linemen, 4 linebackers, including 2 starters, his starting CB and starting SS.

Franchione redshirted 16 out of the 21 players who made it to campus from the 2003 class. Of those 16 players, 9 were starting by their RS-Sophomore year.
