If it's going on a hot dog, Hormel, no beans, hands down.

Go to a gas station get a small drink cup. Fill that puppy up with chili. She rings it up as a small drink

Walt, brilliant.

OP, the sell "chili sauce" at the store that is what you have come to know as the chili in chili dogs.

"Neighbor, how long has it been since you’ve had a big, thick, steaming bowl of Wolf Brand Chili?

Well, that’s too long!”

I recently tried Trader Joes and was pretty impressed. It just pours out the can, like the consistency of chili should be (IMO of course).

Recently had Texas Pete chili sauce on hot dogs. Would recommend for that purpose.

For years, the chili served at Krystal was Chef Mate Chili and at 3:00 in the morning, it was first rate, served alongside 3 or 4 Krystal burgers as a dipping sauce.

I think you can buy that same chili at Sam's today and it would get my vote.

A bargain at maybe $7.00 a can. Why not OD on this stuff tonight. Just be sure to leave a note for the coroner, placing blame where it belongs.

"MD made me do it."

Really? I realize everyone has different taste, but I tried this stuff recently. The texture was literally slimy as if there was okra slime hidden in it, and the flavor wasn't very good at all. Absolutely disgusting

I believe Texas Pete uses grits instead of ground meat.

I would recommend NOT reading the ingredients or the nutrition label of any store-bought canned chili if you plan to actually eat it.

Chisesi make a chili brick (chub) that would be decent for hot dogs. Look in the refridgerated meats near the sausages, etc.
