Going to be Jeep cruising around Maurice, Abbeville, delcambre, New Iberia, etc. Will be in the area for next two days.

Looking for B/L/D spots that are local, mom pop, rural, dive type joints.

TIA

ETA bars also

I agree and disagree with people equally on this board. However, I would agree with Uncle JackD on this one.
My suggestions are identical.

Uncle JackD is spot on. If you go toward Kaplan, head south to Suire's

if I am eating in abbeville I am going to el caminos to get a ribeye.

if you are hungry for a burger and in new iberia check out either a-bears or viators. both have excellent burgers. also billeauds near the lewis street exit has some good plate lunches.

I heard there's a steakhouse out in that area -- Hebert's -- that's supposed to be good, although I've never had it. Can anyone verify?

Eh, I'll eat at El Camino's, but if I'm recommending a restaurant in Abbeville it's going to be Dupuy's.

Yes very legit. It's in between abbeville and Kaplan on the left. Get a crawfish enchilada as an appetizer

If you get a chance to see St Martinville you need to check out The Alligator bar

There aren't many nice sit down restaurants in new iberia, but Bon Creoles poboys can stand up against the best anywhere

Abbeville-shucks, dupuys
New Iberia-Bon creole. Victors is a local icon with some nostalgia. If you like pho, pad Thai, etc pho ly ly is a great spot.
There's a new cake shop in downtown new Iberia with good soups and sandwiches but name escapes me

Just realized it's the lunch counter at bon Creole seafood. I've always called it the seafood counter.
