I have a Walther p22 that I love shooting however it doesn't like cheap ammo. With the imminent zombie apocalypse just around the corner what does the OB recommend for a good auto 22

SR-22 and MK III - so, actually 2 solid ones - although the SR-22 is fairly new.

ETA: And for the op - if you're worried about cheap ammo, why not a revolver? Which, again, Ruger also makes the LCR in .22lr.

I have thr SR22 and its a good gun. I had one magazine from the factory that wouldnt feed properly. Ruger swapped it and no issues since.

Dad has had a MKIII for years. Great gun.

Ruger Mark III. Make sure to get the easy take down kit that a company (I cant remember right now) makes. It makes the breakdown and cleaning much easier.

Edit: just found it LINK

Do you want to shoot, or do you want to shoot with class?

If it is the latter, I recommend finding a nice Colt Woodsman.

Semi or revolver?

Semi - as others have said there are several out there and ones listed are great.

Revolver - Ruger single six is one of the best. Heritage Rough Rider is a cheap one but works very well. I have one.

The new lite (2014) looks good too. Only gripe I have is that the lite frames are polymer. I much prefer the metal frames.

I guess another thing it comes down to is what grip angle you prefer.

Glock -> Mark 3
1911 -> 22/45

Functionally they are the same.

Damn I came here to suggest a P22. I love mine. Trigger job and new spring lets me pretty much shoot whatever though. Accurate little gun.

If I bought another I'd get a buckmark

I have a beretta I like a lot. My dad has 4-5 between. He has a ruger, browning and I'm not sure about the rest. I like mine the most besides a 22 revolver my grandpa gave me and that's probably just bc he gave it to me.
