I am so on board with this that it's difficult to express.

Oh, but I did read all of them, and you still miss the point. I have seen these children's public school lunches personally. Let me draw the picture for you: If Michelle was really sincere about her beliefs and her school lunch issues, she would be promoting that all federally funded lunches would be the same that her kids consume or that her kids' lunches would be the same as those consumed by public school kids. After all, it is about equality and redistribution of wealth. Michelle = hypocrite

Doesn't look anything like the lunches at my kids' schools. Appears that particular school may be trying to cut some corners.

I don't think the article should mention the girl's name so often.

Well basic science refutes this.

And if the ones you've seen personally look anything like the ones in the OP - they don't meet the guidelines that you claim to have read, do they? frick's sake you're a slow one!

I don't what is more pathetic, this "plan" to reform school lunches or the average American's lack of knowledge regarding a healthy diet.

I ran this meal through a calorie counting app and it looks to be around 300 calories. Add a carton of milk and whatever that sauce is and you might get to 450.

We (meaning you and me and probably everyone else on this board) spend hundreds of billions of dollars on fat people every year. I have no problem spending a few million on an education campaign trying to get people to eat healthier.
