What to expect:
iPad Air 2 - Apple is planning to introduce a second-generation iPad Air in October, at a media event that will be held on October 16. According to rumors, the updated tablet will include an improved A8X processor that offers better performance and it will also include the Touch ID fingerprint sensor first introduced with the iPhone 5s. Updates may also include gold option, thinner laminate display, 2GB RAM, and upgraded 8MP camera.
iPad Mini 3 - Apple may unveil its second-generation Retina iPad mini at a media event that will be held on Thursday, October 16. While the updated tablet is expected to retain the same form factor, it will likely gain an upgraded A8 processor and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It is unsure if the Mini 3 will be spec for spec with the Air 2 such as the last generation.
The iOS 8.1 beta has also hinted at possible "Retina HD" displays for the next Retina iPad mini and iPad Air, as it contains "3x" iPad image assets. Apple's larger-screened iPhone 6 Plus with Retina HD display also uses 3x image assets
See the big leak yesterday for lots of new info.
Yosemite - OS X Yosemite was unveiled at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference keynote on June 2, 2014. A beta version of the next-generation software was made available to developers that same day, with a public launch coming in the form of a free upgrade in the fall of 2014. Following the software's June debut, eight separate Developer Previews have been seeded to developers, as have three golden master candidates. The new OS is redesigned to look more akin to the iOS8 interface. Yosemite may be released today or soon after some time this week.
Retina iMac - Apple is expected to introduce updated iMacs at the October 16 media event. Recent rumors have suggested at least the 27-inch model will move to a Retina display at 5120 x 2880 pixels with high-end Haswell processors and new AMD graphics, but it appears the smaller 21.5-inch model may remain at its current 1920 x 1080 resolution for the time being, with a Retina update for that machine possibly coming in 2015.
A report has suggested that the iMac may be getting a new "3D-like" Apple logo that utilizes new cutting and etching technology to make it "shine at the edges."
We may see a slight update to the Mac Mini, but don't get too excited. Bumps may come in the form of a modest CPU update, and a gain in HDD capacity.
How to watch
Starting time: San Francisco: 10AM / New York: 1PM / London: 6PM / Berlin 7PM / Moscow: 9PM / Beijing: 1AM (Oct. 17th) / Tokyo: 2AM (Oct. 17th) / Sydney 4AM (Oct. 17th).

At this point, any update will be a big update. It's been 2 years. I also think they may make it look like a mini Mac Pro.

I've been holding out for a new mini for over a year. If it gets updated, I'm jumping on one.

I love my mini, but I'll love it even more when I can stick it in a closet and use it as a home server. I'd like to replace it with a retina iMac, but I don't want to get the first gen.

Leaks show guide for 8.1
That's a pretty quick release for what is generally a big upgrade

the hint "it has been to long" pretty much proves they are going to update it.

They'll update the MacBooks as soon as Intel provides them with the new chipsets (Broadwell). January/February is my guess.
ETA: But I wouldn't buy one, the next gen Intel chipset (Skylake) should be available next summer.

Do you have any concerns in particular with the retina iMac, or are you just worried about early adoption in general?

iOS 8 talk. They're calling it the best thing yet. Only 48% adoption though, so i don't believe them.

How does that make it not the best one yet? Millions of dummies don;t think they CAN c upgrade cause they don;t have enough room on the phone, but can simply use iTunes.

I thought I remember a much higher adoption rate for iOS7. Plus there was a joke that 8.1 was filled with user feedback.
