I have a small house job that basically would need welding, but as I'm not a welder, I'm wondering if there are any alternatives.

Basically, I am trying to add an extending piece to the post of a rod iron fence, so that the lock catches. Over time, the gate and post have shifted apart.

Some type of methacrylate adhesive. Better than welding.

I don't think drilling is possible. It is a solid post. I'm worried about super glue because of it being outside and really in the elements. What is the best "super glue" out there?

Would think bolting, maybe soldering, but probably wouldnt give you the strength.

Always possible.

Drill and tap, or helicoil. Google/youtube if you don't know what that is.

Will do. I'm the world's shittiest handyman. Grew up with a dad who worked too much and just paid for everything to be fixed. So I never learned a thing.

Post a pic and I will tell you your best option. If the gate and fence have moved apart fix the gate and fence not the latch

How thick is the post? You can drill it but not metal with a normal cordless.
