What are some careers that pay well, but won't let you enjoy your earnings?

Oil diver.
Apparently, you have to spend all your money on hookers and drugs before you get back to your wife at home.

Sounds like they enjoy their earnings plenty.

Lots of various finance jobs. On the road a lot while putting in extra hours at the office. I'd hate to see what I made on a per hour basis.

My buddy is a 2nd year field engineer for haliburton... he makes good money for his age but works absolutely ridiculous hours.

I always wondered how lawyers and doctors with a lot of customers went on vacation. Seems like they would always have something they can't miss come up.
Field engineer is worth mentioning, but they usually get a good bit of days off too. When I was one I would work about 18 days a month- about 210 a year. That's 155 days off..the only problem is they are often on call on those days off, but if you are a good ol boy and just want to fish or hunt on days off (ie not stray far from home) it's pretty ideal. And you also get vacation like other professions, so you can take as many trips as other people.

Most partners at CPA firms don't have lives outside of work
I passed by a place I used to work yesterday and the parking lot was full.....just shook my head and said those poor frickers

Anything to do with offshore. ie(Drilling, production operators, OIM's etc..)

They'll have plenty of time but no money if oil prices keep dropping

I wouldn't say that.. most of the time if you work offshore, you are on a 14/14 schedule. They have plenty of time.

They have plenty of time to not enjoy your earnings.. Hence, won't let you enjoy it.
Also, depending on if you work on a Drillship in the Gulf is 21/21, production is 14/14, construction is 14/7. You get the point
