Ebola screenings begin today at JFK; four more airports start Monday
By Jen Christensen and Joe Sutton, CNN
October 11, 2014

(CNN) -- Health screenings to help prevent the spread of Ebola begin Saturday for some travelers to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Four other airports will add the screenings on Monday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Only about 150 travelers a day will receive the screenings, according to CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden.

What a novel concept!

The nitwit says, "Only about 150 travelers a day will receive the screenings."
Translation: Frieden was allowing about 1200 of these folks in per week, unfettered and unscreened.

Now at least he's going to have the majority (over 1000/week) screened by US personnel.

Good news. But everyone getting on a plane from those countries were screened before they left. Now we are just going to have screening when they get off the plane, maybe 12 - 24 hours later.

By Liberians, many of whom couldn't even competently measure temperatures.

Does anyone else here think it would be cool if Weird Al Yankovic came out with a song about Ebola to the tune of the Kink's Lola? Or is it just me?

No. It would be tasteless and he would fall from public favor. He already used Lola for "Yoda." It is good.

Why are we screening for a harmless disease like Ebola? I learned from the liberals that Ebola is no threat to the US and anyone concerned about it is a racist, fearful, superstitious loon.

You've been corrected several times regarding your presumption of equivalency between Liberian and US screening. Again, to drive the point home, Liberians boarding international flights have done so with officially documented temperatures of 32°C. Since that has not seemed to register, let's put it more bluntly --- 32°C is generally incompatible with life.

I can't believe we are trusting our lives with the honor system. Do we really think no one is going to lie?

They should stop treating those people. just let them suffer and put it on public radio them begging for treatment and being told no because they are pieces of shite.

This is too small and too late as far as the actual precautions now being put in.

I agree because that's just making them want to come to the US so they can be treated.
