Final Fantasy XIII is now on Steam, is the game any good?

I liked it, I don't think it is nearly the train wreck everyone made it out to be.

I have never played a FF game so I don't have any prior game hype for it to live up to.

If you want to play a Final Fantasy that is extremely linear with repetitive battles and gameplay, then it's for you. It's not a bad game, but not really worth retail price. I'd wait for steam sales.

If you've never played a FF, I would start with a better one then 13. 13 was terrible, I kept waiting for it to get good....it never did.

One of its major flaws is that it has some of the worst characters in gaming history.
I also have a lot of animosity for it because my save file corrupted just before the final boss.

It's not as bad as every makes it out to be IMO. But there are better FF games on steam.

I've tried a controller and just cant get used to it, and still have somewhat of the same problem locating the left hand buttons without looking.

I wish you had a demo available, because it's not a twitch game at all. XIII especially is about party setup and combining the right jobs together versus fast command entry.
