I keep reading about how ISIS is very sophisticated. They know social media and the Internet. They have better recruiting weaponry and training than other terrorist groups.

OK. So they are smart. Therefore my question. What is the expected outcome from their video beheadings?

Do they think the rest of the globe will say "Oooh, I don't want them to cut my head off so I shall become a Muslim."

They behead other Muslims every single day.

The beheadings are part of a recruiting initiative, and are a huge part of striking fear into the Iraqi army. They have very little to do with converting anyone outside the region.

Apostates. Not "real" Muslims.

Pretty much, and it is effective, at least to a degree.

So the recruiting goes like this: "Hey, would you like to cut people's heads off? It's great fun! Join us today!"

It worked on me. Scared the shite right out of me. I went down to the mosque this morning Zach, after Starbucks. They beat me in and taught me a few slogans, but I quit after they told me I had to mutilate the women-folk's naughty parts, forget everything good that's occurred since about 1350, have men's asses in my face several times a day and worship a documented pederast. I'd rather have my head cut off.

I'm sticking with Moopism.

More like: "Cut heads off and keep yours, plus you get some virgins in the afterlife."

A: It's a recruiting tool for the goat fricking malcontents that would join up

B: It's a tool to try and draw larger powers into a fight......then see A

They are concerned about the poor reviews of lethal drug injections in the US?

It's all about fear & intimidation. They have taken terrorism to a whole new level and it's working. Seeing a beheading is far more effective than hearing about it.

Behead someone ----> Americans get riled up and clamor for war ----> US attacks Middle East ----> more support for ISIS

Terror I guess.

I don't get why there is a bigger freak out when the muslims do it versus the Mexican drug cartel.
They are both the same heinous act but for whatever reason the muslims get a bigger splash out of theirs.

It's about recruiting...

Also sending a message to not interfere. Yet, they have shown that they want the entire middle east under the caliphate. So, if they show you their intentions and you see what life would be like for all underneath this new Ottoman Empire then you can't allow them to take power.

There's no strategy. These aren't rational human beings. They're bleeping insane.

If anything, it might be a little bit of the "little dog" syndrome. This is them doing something sensational in order to "prove" that they can piss in the tall grass with the big dogs.

But for the most part, they're just warped.
