Pretty good article.

From the looks of everything I have been reading it appears the lower oil prices are here to stay for the near future baring some major event. Depending on what happens we may see a game of chicken between the Opec countries and our domestic producers. To top it off I was reading a report where there are internal struggles within OPEC over market share and talks of a price war within the group for some countries who have been offline, Libya, Iran, a couple others, to try and regain some of it back.

Everything I have read says that as long as it stays above $80 everything here, shale plays & DW, should stay economical and up and running. Hopefully that stays true, be my luck it flattens out right as I a getting in.

Yeah.. I've heard 80 being the price point also. At least you got in.. Just hope if prices lower they don't pull back your job offer.

Really getting crushed today. Has anyone ever thought about hedging their personal oil consumption if oil gets down really low again? There are a couple ETF's that track the futures pretty well.

Yeah, if this is a long term trend, I will really start to worry.
So much of the regionally economy is based on oil and gas.

can't believe it's falling this quickly. I guess it's a race to the bottom at this point. My guess is that it slides in at $74 by the end of next week before bouncing back to stabilize right around $85 as I predicted at the beginning of the year

Just curious what your play is if it hits $74

Or buy stock in XOM or almost any major oil company.

The major oil stocks haven't really corrected much yet for some reason.

Because they are more diversified than exploration companies.

Actually I am not in yet, haven't accepted any of the offers yet bc I am expecting more and am holding out. Getting pretty nervous though, my luck they will start throwing out hiring freezes. I have two more that will hopefully be in the next 3 weeks. It keeps going the way it is I will prob jump on one of those.

fricking my plans all to shite.

When is the OPEC meeting? That will be very telling on what the next 2-3 years look like.

The 27th, was hoping it was going to be a lot sooner.

Going good, have 3 offers and expecting a couple more. The one I am most interested in though put a short timeline on accepting it so I am in a little bit of a pickle right now.

Yeah that's a classic move these companies do. Use it as leverage for getting the other offers to come in, and for Getting a better starting salary.
