If Valentine was not having "clearance" issues what is our record?

To those who are actually able to watch him at practice, do you think he would have made enough of a difference to change either State or Aub enough to matter? If he had been there from the beginning of fall practice I mean.

The same, but with a lot better performance in the aggregate.

Everyone is making this guy like the next Nick Fairley. Let's see what he does. My guess 4-2.

I'll have to get back with you after I see him play. Hopefully he is a beast.

A freshman DT is not going to change our record. Could we look a little better? Maybe. We have other positions that need improvement besides DT.

same record

The assumption that Valentine is going to be a difference maker is based on hope more than anything.

Same. A true FR DT wasn't changing anything. He may help us squeak past Florida though

Well, it's been stated that He came in grossly overweight. He missed basically all of fall practice. I mean, what are people hearing about this kid that I'm not? Other than He's a big guy..

I heard someone on here say something to the effect of our O-line not being able to move him, but that isn't saying much considering they haven't been able to move anyone all year.

A freshman defensive tackle that no one has ever seen play, that showed up to camp at 380 pounds?

Well, that would make us 6-0

Per a very prominent player on the team, valentine is going to be a stud but is nowhere near in good enough shape to take the field. Not sure if he's playing right now regardless of clearance issues.

Seems like a lot of promise with this kid, but I think people need to pump the breaks. This is the same team that claimed JJ had made a huge jump in the Spring prior to the 2010 season and that Welter was amazing and improved leaps and bounds this past off season.

In the end, he wouldn't have changed either result, and I think people forget that as great as the comeback was, it likely doesn't happen if MSU doesn't sit several players for most of the 4th quarter.

At this point, we don't need him every down. We need him on about 12 crucial snaps a game. I'd imagine he could get the job done for those situations. I know a couple 3rd and 4's in the Auburn game it may have been nice to have a 370 pounder in the middle.

Nope. Offense was still a dry piece of shite. I think you could shave off about 10 points and 100 yards from each loss with him and Trey added, but the offense was stuck in the mud regardless.
