I believe part of what we are seeing is the backlash for a large number of Jr's to the NFL draft. LSU just lost too many over 2013 and 2014, and now we see the result when playing so many freshmen.

why is the O-lineup and defense so bad? We have always played young talented guys.

Worn out excuse. We have the world's greatest recruiter, right? Why didn't he make contingency plans for this? Did he not know Met was a gonner... along with the rest? What happened to that big pipeline of talent we always hear about - ready to step in a take the reigns?

Just like in the NFL, Oline and Dline are least likely to be ready from day one.

Between the RB, FB, TE, and the Oline there are 10-12 upper classman. There is no excuse why we can't run the ball. I believe we could be more productive if we weren't so predictable when it comes to the ground attack. We haven't really see a pitch since Fournette fumbled that one in the opener. It's ok to attack the edge of a defense not every run needs to up the middle.

Kentucky basketball looses half or more of thier starters every year, and reload again the next year and competes for titles . I know losing 8 to 9 players each year is tuff, but isn't lsu in the top 10 recruiting class ? Yea we might lose a game or 2 due to young players, but basically getting blown out , isn't acceptable . Miles and his staff are paid to win championships, and keep LSU respectable .

The 2013 juniors wouldn't have been here anyway. They would have graduated last year. Them leaving should have actually given younger guys more PT. Last years juniors that left are the only ones that would have an impact on this team.

Was listening to packer/nutt on sirus radion today, and they were talking about LSU....Nutt saying without a doubt it is a huge impact and people don't understand that. Both Packer and Nutt said that LSU would be right back on top in a year or two.....

Its BS.

The guys that left two years ago would have been seniors last year, so they wouldn't be here anyway.

Their having left should have meant more freshmen and sophs got PT last year and came into this year experienced. Guys like Reshard Robinson, etc.

Our biggest problems are (in no particular order)

Lack of stud DLs (recruiting problem)
Lack of upperclassman QB (recruiting problem)
Lack of LB (recruiting problem)
And then scheme, adjustment, and tailoring to strength problems.

This is funny. There is no reason other than the fact teams know LSU can't beat them passing, so they stack the box with 8 and 9....kinda hard to run and open up holes facing that.

Can't compare basketball to football, just two totally different sports.

Jrs leaving early excuse is a nonstarter

Beckham, Hill, and Landry wouldnt have kept us from blowouts because our QBs arent ready for the SEC

So that argument rests on 2 DL leaving early last year. Not gonna change the LBs or secondary

That's an interesting thought. Can't believe this hasn't been discussed ad nauseum, I mean there aren't even at least 2 threads on this page.

Did I accidentally fall asleep for a year. Is this not 2014? I thought the 2013 juniors should be seniors THIS YEAR.

Haha, man you guys are taking two losses pretty hard. There was a time when LSU would have been happy to have two wins a year. These guys just need time to develop. People need to chill out.

bullshite.

The 90s sucked, but there was NEVER, EVER a time when LSU was happy with 2 wins in a season.

In fact, has LSU EVER had a season with less than 2 wins?

Getting players to the NFL is a recruiting tool for LSU. It should not be used as an excuse for playing poorly also. The coaches know players will leave after 3 seasons and they need to learn how to prepare for it.
