This is clearly a practice player.

Even if Jimmy did miss a game, it wouldn't be that big of hit IMO. Drew needs a game where his #1 receiver is out, so he can go back spreading the ball around. Instead of force feeding Jimmy.

disclaimer: I still want Jimmy back vs Detroit. We're gonna need him.

If true...it's Josh Hill time

if Graham were to miss even 1 game... this would require some move

Hill has proven he deserves reps as JG's back-up... but he's also a highly valued special teamer

if Hill is needed for offense... then that will require a new special teams player... and Crabtree may fit that bill

Crabtree was pretty good for the Packers as a I recall. Didn't realize he was unemployed.

Byrd goes on IR. Fortt has been claimed. Saints can't use the IR designation twice. Thus ends conspiracy theory Tuesday.

Double checked with the NFL, who said the Saints could not use the short-term IR designation on another player this season

This is why I said it was fking dumb to use IR Dtr on Forte.

Was preaching it in preseason brothers

Yeah, I've been saying since this preseason that it was stupid to use the DTR on Fortt and waste a spot on Lorig. Here we are going into week 6 (when DTR players can start practicing), and Lorig still doesn't appear close to practicing.

Game 1: 7 snaps; +0.6 overall (+0.1 pass block, +0.5 run block)
Game 2: 22 snaps; +0.2 overall (-0.1 pass, +0.2 run, +0.2 pass block, -0.1 run block)
Game 3: 23 snaps; -1.1 overall (+0.3 run, +0.2 pass block, -1.6 run block)
Game 4: 10 snaps; -0.6 overall (-0.2 run, +0.1 pass block, -0.5 run block)
Game 5: 27 snaps; +0.8 overall (-0.1 pass, -0.2 run, +0.2 pass block, +0.9 run block)

For the season:
89 snaps
-0.1 Overall
-0.2 Pass
+0.1 Run
+0.8 Pass Block (all 5 games are + scores)
-0.8 Run Block (2 positive games)

Austin Johnson has been playing okay, but his run blocking is pretty horrid.

We have 3 starting caliber TEs and a serious problem at linebacker, corner, defensive tackle, and guard and we gain a roster spot and sign another tight end.

I mean what the frick.

Horrid? -0.8 is far from a horrid score and he had one bad game that was double that(-1.6). Take out that bad game and he is +0.8.

He is one of only 3 FBs to have a +1.0 or higher blocking score(total, not just run). Highest is +1.7. That should show you how hard it is for these guys to get + scores.

DT is fine with jenkins back. Some guys just need their heads out of their asses.

CB....We have to hope PRob continues that play in the slot and find an adequate 2nd CB.

G and LB is a problem though.

What a fricking retarded thread title. Even if that turns out to be right, there's nothing in that tweet that says that or even suggests it. All it suggests is that we signed a TE.

Calm down Nancy. It wasn't a definitive statement. It was a question

Definitely not fine with Bunkley and Jenkins; you serio? Have you seen the '14 team play? Jenkins looked "serviceable" against a team that looks like bottom of barrel and couldn't find the field before that. I agree he's probably better than bunkley but is that saying anything, like at all?

He couldn't find the field due to conditioning and getting over an injury, not talent.

He was very good last year and him eating space will make our line look better.

I'd like to see even more of Walker/Foster as well.

Bunkley is another guy, like Hicks, Robinson, and Toon, that were tearing up Training Camp but have nothing to show for it now that now that the season has started. I'm guilty as hell for soaking up every Training Camp report, but I think next year I'll just pretend that it doesn't even exist.
