It has been trending this way for so long no one probably really notices the difference.
Saturday morning cartoons really died over 10 years ago.

Looks like it died last Saturday actually

Definitely sad, but with the advent of networks like Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Disney XD, kids can watch cartoons whenever they want. I'm sure ratings weren't sufficient to justify broadcast networks keeping them around.

WTF, this is horrible. Proof our society is in decline, No School House Rock...

For all you 40+ year olds...
who remembers the Friday night previews of the new season's Saturday morning line up in the 70's?

]That's because cable is a dying medium. Who only watches the major networks?
If you want content...whatever time you want it, you watch it.
With the internet.
It's beautiful and ridiculous to cling to an obsolete form of entertainment when a clearly superior option exists.
Would you watch Something on an old CRT TV if you had a 60 inch flat screen at your disposal?
Who cares if we aren't shackled to the schedule of network executives?
Vive la révolution des technologies[/i

I thought it was over for that a while ago actually

Yes, this Saturday may have been the first with no cartoons (I didn't even realize the CW was broadcast...), but the last major network to leave it with new content was back in 04.
Most of the time between were blocks of cancelled programming that could be seen at other times anyway so while it was there, there wasnt any draw to it.

that is exactly what I though of when I read this...it is strange how vivid my recollection is of those preview shows...very fond memories of that and the first saturday morning of the new seasons...

Who cares? Every kid worth a shite has cable or at the very least Netflix.

I can still hear the sound of roadrunner in the background...
"Beep Beep!"

The youth of today would never understand the joy those cartoons brought us as kids. Waking up to the smurfs and super friends was just pure joy. RIP Saturday morning cartoons

Sure they can...they just wake up and put on Netflix and watch what they want now.

Nope they have other options we didn't, we didn't have cable, netfix. You missed Saturday morning cartoons back in the day your week was fricked. I was grumpy smurf all week.

Good
Little shitheads need to be outside playing with friends not glued to a tv playing on their cell phones
