I live in Baton Rouge and have fished inshore out of Venice a number of times. I've got some friends from out of state coming in and was wondering if anyone could recommend another place a little closer. I've been thinking of Cocodrie but don't want to jump without some opinions of the people on this board.

Thanks!

Go to Hopedale and take Cap't Charlie/ Bayou Charters.

He has a nice lodge across the road from his boat house, can sleep up to 32 folks, big nice cooking/ drinking area, 20 minutes from downtown NOLA, and you will catch fish.

There are a ton of options south of Houma. Some of the better guides seems to fish out of Dularge and are pretty consistent. Look up either Absolute Fishing Charters with Marty LaCoste, or Cpt Bill Lake with Bayou Guide service.

Capt travis lovell

Bill lake or marty are typically booked and pass on trips to other guides. Travis usually finds a way to fish his customers.

Eta. Tell him you heard from me on tigerdroppings. He will probably get you a little better rate than advertised on his website

Blind Faith Charters when in Venice. Captain Lee; you won't be disappointed. He has a dope houseboat/lodging to boot. You'll thank me.

If he is booked, get on with Kevin Beach(pale horse) or Peace Marvel.

damn i need to get down there...

I second Bayou Charters. Camp is really nice and as 4 said you will catch fish. I went with Greg Boudreaux and we had a blast with him.

first thing you gotta do is figure out what kind of fishing you want to do...are you thinking bluewater for tuna, marlin, etc., bottom fishing for snapper, etc., or inshore for trout and reds...

Cajun Fishing Adventures in Buras is great. Capt Ryan Lambert & his GM Ray "Rayzor" Stansberry run a great operation.

Got a text from a guy we use that goes out of Campo's day before yesterday that said he was mauling the fish right now. his name is Dane Bennett. Doesn't advertise alot, but I really enjoy fishing with this guy, and I love his boat.
