Stay where I am happy ($$$ increase)
Move depts for a 20% increase into a field I have never had experience in
Move to S. FL into management, where I know no one, more money, but not sure how much and offer is coming Monday
Contact TX company who I had a great interview with, and tell them about above offers

Basically, I am in the position of being offered several lucrative positions. I hate/love having options. Moving would be easy in the sense that I have outgrown BR and I have no family here. My boss is doing everything they can to keep me. I love working for this person. The other position in my current company would be new to me, but better money. The out of state jobs are a ballpark in terms of money. I would make more, but going somewhere new, alone, sounds awfully scary. I am not a negotiator and I hate this. I asked on here and everyone said "S. Florida!"
Everything held constant, if the pay were relatively the same for switching depts or moving out of state v. staying at current job you enjoy with a definite pay increase (though less than the others) and you were single with no kids....what would the OT do?

If you're unmarried and not with anyone, move to S. Florida.

If you're married, stay in BR and get a pay increase.

If you want Ebola, move to Texas.

Pretty simple.

Just realized you may be a woman. The same rules apply.

I'll give you a job offer. It won't take long, but its for very little pay and you won't enjoy it.

You have to factor in cost of living before you decide how much better the money is out of state. IMO

I did this at age 50+. Kids had grown and gone. Just me and the GF (now wife) picked up and moved from BR to Houston. Best move I ever made. Don't be afraid to try something new. At your age you should have plenty of time to rectify any errors in judgement. The opportunity to experience new people, places and things is not one to be ignored.

Good Luck,

S. FL is expensive as shite....

Off topic - Retro, I got to do a Louisiana version of your avatar (Pink Floyd). It came out amazing and was such a cool experience. Although we were in public and I thought the NOLA cops were going to haul us off to jail!

It is, but that shouldn't stop you.

I'm on my second relocation outside of Louisiana since college, and I have no regrets about leaving. Maybe you will, but you can always move back home, and then you may appreciate LA more than ever. I love Louisiana and it will always have a huge part of my heart, but leaving the state and getting out of my bubble and my comfort zone was the best thing I've ever done for myself.

ETA: I'm a broad in my late 20s, fwiw

Which job will progress you toward your end goal?

Many times stepping outside your comfort zone allows you the best opportunity to grow, embrace it if that job allows for you to move the direction you want.
