I think it's pretty clear to everyone that Dural and Dupre are the main targets on this team due to their size and leaping ability. However, I think we'd all like to see the ball distributed more to the guys underneath. Jennings really locked into Dural, and while Harris seems to favor Dupre, he did a good job of targeting others as well.

Diarse had one catch on a quick throw, but it's the type of call I'd like to see us incorporate more. We have a lot of talent at WR, perhaps our best unit on offense, so we need to get these guys the ball in space. Diarse is kind of the forgotten man in the WR corps at the moment, but he's done well with limited opportunities. Dural is the best WR on the team, and Harris has a natural bond with the other two freshman WRs, so I hope Diarse isn't going to be lost in the shuffle.

Quinn will thrive in those 5-20 yard routes. I'm confident that he can get separation against anyone due to his speed and route running, and he's been routinely open this season. His targets will increase with Harris in the game as they have an equally strong rapport as Harris/Dupre, IMO.

How do y'all see Diarse and Quinn's roles developing going forward?

BTW, kudos to Adam Henry for coaching his dick off with our WRs recently. He turned Landry/OBJ into bosses, and he's done a great job with these inexperienced guys so far. All four of our WRs look like veterans.

NB4 TL;DR

I'd like to see some Diarse bubble screens. Do yall rememeber when Jimbo used to run the bubble screen for the first play of every fricking game? Reed was a master at it.

I think any 4 of those guys could lead team in catches in any game this season.

We only have so many snaps, and half are going to our RBs.

We need to take advantage of mismatches, whoever that may be at the time. I know Les despises that common sense approach, so I won't be holding my breath.

Should be a lot of mismatches this weekend as Auburn's pass defense leaves a lot to be desired. They don't have much size in the secondary, and their #2 CB is a converted WR, so we should be able to take advantage deep. Malachi and Travin's size should present problems for just about every team we face.

LSU came out throwing a good bit on 1st down against NMST with Harris in the game, so I'd like to see some quick throws early to keep the defense honest. I really think we can move the ball well against this team. Stopping them is a completely different issue

Good, cause we are going to need a ton of points to keep up.

I think I'm more excited about our receiveing depth over the next 2-3 years then I've been in a long time. Last yeat we had two all-timers but not much after that. Finally I fell like we have four really capable playmakers. Diarse does seem to loaf alot. Quinn could one of our best slot guys ever.

Just looked up some stats regarding AU's pass defense against their opponents thus far. First number is passing yards AU surrendered; second number is each team's average passing yards per game so far:

Arkansas - 175 (167)
San Jose - 254 (243)
K State - 245 (246)
La Tech - 216 (248)

Teams have had success against Auburn through the air this year. That's obviously not a black and white statistic as a lot of factors contribute to the final number, but it's encouraging. None of those teams have the talent we have in the passing game

Quality post Alex!

It is a great problem to have!

Dural has shown that he is a real threat on the go route, and can also break the route off on digs.

Dupre is a legitimate red zone threat. 6'3" and a 40" vertical jump cannot be taught.

Diarse is our thickest and strongest receiver and will be a weapon!

Quinn is probably the most versatile of them all and can play any receiver postion, attack all areas of the field, and we have not been able to see his full arsenal of skills yet. The pass from Harris that looked like a touchdown was the first time he was able to get a ball and turn upfield with it. I think Harris will be able to spread the ball around more and has simply been in the game more with Dupre the first few games.

I really like our group of receivers, and think they all compliment each other really well, and as somebody said, I can see different guys being the leader in receptions based on matchups and what the situation calls for at the time.

It is exciting to be an LSU fan!

I have a question, who is our fifth WR? If we have to go 80 yards in 2 minutes for the win and we do not put an RB or TE in, who would the fifth WR be?

Leslie, Peterson, Spears, a true freshman?

I may be mistaken, but I'd say that DJ Chark is the next man up. He dropped a TD against NMST.

I think Quinn will be productive in every game. Diarse is too good not to play. I think both will be great contributors.
