There is likely to be yet another Bush on America’s ballots in 2016; at least the Republican presidential primary ballot. It is reported by Politico that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has decided to run for president in 2016.

quote:

His campaign visits included summer stops on behalf of the Republican National Committee to raise money for Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina and Kentucky Senate candidates. It has been noted by Bush-watchers that he is now traveling like a candidate and suddenly showing frequent availability to national media, unlike anything before last June.

Much like another political dynasty, the Clinton's, this Bush is establishing extensive political contacts for endorsements to build his own political base. More than likely his staff is copying the political playbook Hillary Clinton has been utilizing for the past six years.

Well, another guy named Bush will never be elected US president again in any of our lifetimes, so if he gets the republican nomination the next president is a democrat and our country is fricked.

8 years of Obama, the prospect of Romney heading the ticket again... yeah I could see Jeb Bush rallying a pretty large contingent of the Republican base behind him actually.

I am in a very small group that thinks that Romney can actually win in 2016, running partially on the "I told you so" platform.

But he has to have a reasonably clear path to the nomination. Another 2011-2012 style meat grinder will put him under again.

And regardless of the political skills and/or merits of either one's platform, if this country tosses up a choice between a Clinton and a Bush in 2016, we might have to dispense with this "every person deserves a vote" nonsense and come up with a better system.

The name "Bush" has become political poison. Dude might receive an honorable mention at the RNC in 2016.

If he can do a 13 hour filibuster non stop and still manage to keep it on topic a significant majority of the time without hanging himself, he'll do just excellent with debate prep and plenty of practice.

Rand has managed to scare me off a bit with his recent ambiguity on foreign policy.

Rand may have a debate challenge from some of the contenders but not Jeb "illegal immigration is an act of love" Bush.
