We all know that Jimmy isn't that great of blocker, But what was showed on ESPN today was pretty embarrassing. They showed some plays last week where Jimmy basically let the defender run right past him and put forth very little effort to block the guy. I don't think its all technique or skill with Jimmy, his effort in his run blocking seems to be lacking. Anyone else pick up on this? Many of us might say "who cares, as long as he is catching TDs," but when our backs are getting tackled in the backfield because of this I think it becomes a problem. Thoughts?

PFF through 3 weeks has him + on run blocking and - on pass blocking (all because of last week's -2.3)

I swear I've seen him make more solid blocks this year though.

He needs to put more effort in blocking if hes too damn tired to move he needs to get off and let some one on who will put forth effort because he is just hurting our team with that lack luster effort

Jimmy has, and always will be, soft as cotton. Great player and I love him though

I've noticed this too and he should be called out on it. There're WR's much smaller than him who are better blockers.

That was shitty blocking but 2 of them looked like not completely his fault. In the 2nd clip if the RB bounces outside Jimmy it's a big gain. The 3rd clip looked like Josh Hill's fault since Jimmy was going on a route.

I think he's been decent in run blocking this year to be honest.

Possibly, but that's not really the point at hand, is it? He doesn't destroy NFL level talent and that's what the OP was discussing.

I actually think it's more confusing than the + or - grade from PFF. It's that in some games, he blocks well, in other games, he appears to not want to. That's baffling to me.

Yeh, no shite sherlock. He is soft in comparison to other tight ends. Which is fine, because he is also more athletic and better route runner then most tight ends.

Do you disagree that compared to other tight ends in the NFL Graham is soft? It isnt a big deal. He more then makes up for it with everything else he brings to the table. This board is almost impossible to have rational talks anymore

+1

But you can't say it because Jimmy would beat you up.
So dumb.

Your average male walking around would destroy the average poster, so that's not a good measuring stick.

Anyone that thinks Jimmy is soft doesn't understand football.

He is one of the least physical tight ends in the NFL. If you can't see that you don't understand football

You rarely see one defender bring him down. Did you miss that stiff arm Sunday? Also he's the best tight end in the league by a large margin so that says something about your ridiculous assessment.

I have already said he is one of the best tight ends. Still stand by my statement he is far less physical then most.

He's not one of the best. He is THE best. Also I think his blocking has been solid this year and it continues to improve and like I said he never goes down easy
