now this is literally Germans, but I haven't seen it posted yet and figured our Alabama and Landmass posters may be interested.

LINK

quote:

the German Ethics Council recommended the section be repealed, arguing that the risk of disability in children is not enough to warrant the law and de-criminalising incest would not remove the huge social taboo around it.

quote:

Patrick Stuebing, who was adopted as an infant and met his sister in his 20s, has launched several appeals since being imprisoned for incest in 2008 (spent three years in prison)

quote:

He and his sister Susan Karolewski, who were not brought up together, met for the first time when they were aged 24 and 16 respectively.

quote:

Ms Karolewski was allowed to keep custody of their youngest child but the other three were taken into care. Two are disabled, although it is not known whether incest is the cause.

hmmm....

quote:

The Ethics Council’s recommendation only covered incest between siblings and members did not recommend decriminalising sex between parents and children.

It doesn't look like Merkel is going to decriminalize incest, but what is this world?

So you're saying if I want to have a threesome with two beautiful, blond, twin sisters, Germany is where I should go?

Really now that gay marriage is being accepted, I figure it's only a matter of time before this is accepted here. If you think about it, you can't really oppose legalizing incest if you support gay marriage.

That's right.

Everything is OK.

Let the world dictate to you what is right and what is wrong.

what an insightful, brilliant post. this is definitely well thought out, weighing the opinions of both sides of the argument fairly and reaches a plausible conclusion. bravo.

Correct. If the argument is that two gays can marry, this is only logical.

It gives me hope for our future as a country when I see kids being respectful to their elders and willing to learn from our experience and wisdom.

well apparently there is science that backs up the claims that incest isn't really dangerous

i remember reading about first cousins in law school and there is a lot of data saying there is no reason 1st cousins should be prohibited from breeding

I heard one trait of incest is that many kids are born with front butt and must wear mom jeans for the extra space to accommodate it.
