Looks like it will be hitting theaters in May. Yeah I know he is getting kind of old but I personally am super pumped to see Arnold return as the terminator. Don't know how true this is but I read on Cinema Blend that Arnold went into beast mode working out for the movie & his body measurements are exactly the same as they were in T2. I seriously read that, but who knows? I doubt he really got that swole again. I'm not sure why they are spelling genesis like that. I know that it may not be that good of a movie but you better believe I'm gonna go see it when it comes out.

Doesn't matter to me. I treat all Terminator films, after T2 the same way I treat the Star Wars prequels - if I don't acknowledge them, they don't exist to me.

We surmised it was a corporation name or something like that.

Maybe they have explained by now, I have no idea. I doubt its a goofy misspelling for an edge factor. IF it is, this movie is fricked.

ETA:
quote:

The picture revealed the correct spelling of the movie's title Terminator Genisys.[31] The spelling of the title was changed early in production from "Genesis" to the stylzed "Genisys", a play on words and spelling. "SYS" is a computer term referring to the "System" or critical files that the system depends on to function properly. It has also been confirmed by Paramount Pictures that the spelling change is relevant to the plot of the new film.[32]

The Wiki page isn't clear but sort of. The company that made Salvation was going to make 3 movies but had to file bankruptcy. They put the property on auction but only Joss Whedon (Ya frick) was the only bidder at $10,000. It then went on to another studio, blah blah.

At least this is encouraging:
quote:

During an interview, the director of the first two Terminator films, James Cameron, admitted that he had been asked to be involved in the film by Megan Ellison. Cameron later had held several meetings with David Ellison, where they discussed Arnold Schwarzenegger's role and how to stay true to the original T-800 character.[30]

I'm with you, Ace. All of the terminator properties have sucked since 2. The fact that they are bringing Arnold back is a minus, IMO, not a plus.

Hollywood is nothing but hacks now. They're really good at doing lines off of Megan Fox's shaved poon, but not so hot at original thought.

I actually have never seen the one with Christian Bale. A terminator movie without Arnold just didnt interest me. Arnold IS the terminator & always will be & I'm so glad he's back.

I'll wait for it to hit HBO or one of the other movie channels.

The TV show was better than the last two movies by a large enough margin that I wish they had just made more of that instead.

I'll see it in theaters but I'm setting myself up for having to do the Walk of Shame out of the auditorium when it's over.

Didn't they at one point mention that Arnold's obviously advanced age will be addressed in his Terminator or did I completely make that up? Double HGH regimen or not, it's clearly not 1991 anymore so it would seem that at least some lip service has to be paid to that.

There is no purpose plot-wise for any Terminator movies after #3.
