Question for those that have an MBA

I overheard some fellow coworkers discussing the "appropriateness" for displaying the degree after their name on stuff like email signatures, business cards, etc. I personally don't write it on anything in my professional setting, but I certainly don't look at people that do any differently. I personally just don't care about stuff like that. I realize it's not an MD or PhD, or even a CPA (a professional designation that makes sense in accounting/finance settings) but is it a big deal either way? Never thought about it, but this seemed to be a weirdly heated discussion

Would never do MBA but think CPA, MD, or any professional designation of the sort is appropriate.
Some girl at my company has ,MSA in her signature which is basically a nice way of saying she failed the CPA exam.

Right I agree with that.

You earned it, so why not use it? Do people look down upon an MBA now or something?

Seems to be more of the fact that certain individuals see it as holding the same real estate of a more prestigious designation such as the doctorates of the world. I don't see the big deal either way really.

Yeah I don't get that. If you don't have it yet, don't post it.

FT, CLU makes sense
ETA: I'm not a CLU, but I get it when agents use it. It's definitely a pretty cool distinction.

Sorry man! Leave that on your resume as predicted date or whatever but don't use that in a professional setting.

It's really douchey and the mbas who tend to put it after their name seem to be the ones who got it online or from some really shitty college.

I'm sure some people in here will say that it's ok, but it's not.
I've seen applicants with amazing resumes fall off the charts when someone emails than and they reply back with MBA or MS (or god forbid, BS) behind their names. That is of course after it is forwarded around and everyone points and laughs.
I'm not exaggerating one bit.
Also, if you somehow get a job, when you email someone, they are automatically assuming your MBA is from Devry or Trump university. They also know for a fact that you are a self important D Bag that is probably completely socially unaware and wearing socks that don't match your suit from men's wear house.
