It is clear that both Jennings and Harris are much more suited to a more open style of offense (Jennings proved that in the 3rd/4th quarter against Wisc and Harris last night).

We set these guys up to fail. It is extremely frustrating bc i, like most, feel we have the offense weapons unfortunately those weapons stay locked up bc of our desire to play an antiquated style of offense. Hell MSU was a power running team last night. They just did it with their people spread out across the length of the field instead of in a 15 yd box.

I agree with you to an extent, I think Harris showed last night he should play, too much upside to ignore. Harris can make the magical throws that Mett made to make this offense work, Jennings doesn't as often.

No it doesn't matter. You said it perfectly. They are set up to fail.

Next 3 years we will bring in the #1 WR in HS and then proceed to put one on the field at a time. Love the 2TE formation with pass catching TEs that never run a route and don't block well because we recruited smaller pass catching TEs. But at least the one option to throw to is in single coverage. So there is chance.

If Harris was in there, it would look the same. He would have no running game and no protection.

Don't set the kid up for failure. Our problems are bigger than QB.

Far more concerning is our defense.

No it doesn't but a lot of fans think it does. We will not utilize our QB's strengths so it doesn't matter. And B. Harris will get killed with that oline.

Harris also faced 3 man pressure and zone coverage. Jennings faced exotic blitz packages and had no help from the running game.

It's a plot! Miles hates LSU. He wants to get fired so he can cash that big check and then run home to Michigan!

I agree. But Jennings was getting some of the same looks as Harris mid way second half and failed to execute.

I don't think it makes a huge difference, but why not get him the reps. As the premise of the thread is does it matter, I say if it doesn't matter start the one with more talent.

Mett threw slants and quick outs to ODB3 and Landry with regularity. Which QB can make these throws?

Only need two seconds for those, correct?

Miles and Cam aren't slinging the ball in effort to bring Jennings along slowly. If Jennings had proven he could do it then there would be more passes thrown. I think if you see a switch to Harris, you'll see a more balanced offense.

They call they plays not to lose instead of trying to win. Did we run on 1st down 98% of the time last night? It's just so predictable. My mom could probably play LB and adjust the defense against this offense.

You said it all. LSU is down 14-0 and still trying that "here we come, now stop it" running game into the teeth of a physical D. Not trying to be a negatiger, but that has Les written all over it. Look at Blake Sims at Bama...1st year QB w/an offensive coordinator that you can actually see Nick Saban at times disagree with on the sidelines, but they trust and allow Sims to throw the ball with play calling that actually benefits Sims. What happens?? Bama gets over 500 yds of offense and Sims goes off against an SEC defense. Instead, Les "plays it safe" and has to wait until LSU is down 17-0 until they're forced to throw the ball with absolutely no continuity on offense. Sorry, but I just don't believe that's Cam Cameron's idea of offense.

On that 2 point conversion, jennings had quinn open if we would have hurried up and thrown the ball.

Cam has failed a few times as a coach, lets not act like he is some God.
