Looking at 7 weeks and I want the best deal. Economical but good.

Any experience with such sites?

Things to avoid?

pick a hotel and book directly with them...tell them what you want how long and if what they can do. Many times they beat any 3rd party sites and sometimes by alot due to upgrades

And join their points program. Look for places like Drury that have free beer in the evenings and a free breakfast. 7 weeks is a long time in a hotel.

Call and speak to the hotel sales exec or GM regarding extended stays.

Also check out Marriott Execu Stay.

Does it have to be a hotel?

You could get a hell of a deal on a condo from VRBO in damn near any city for a monthly rate.

Lake Jackson or surrounding areas.

Doesn't have to be a hotel. Hell, I'd almost prefer it wasn't. Called one that wanted 4000 for a monthly stay.
I laughed at them

Well, I was, but now that I know it's NOT OKAY I'm in a pickle.

I seriously need to find a decent place to stay for 2 months that won't break me.
