I actually had a girl that is a HARDCORE feminist tell me that she thinks the NFL should stop doing breast cancer awareness because it is overfunded (and that they are just doing it to attract female viewers) and do months for diseases that are underfunded and more deadly. I couldn't believe it.

at the timing of this move.

NFL just cant win with PR these days.

Also to camouflage inspired jerseys and at Mr Buyer saying he is against the NBA putting corporate logos on jerseys.

She's right.

And Susan G Komen spends a shitload of money protecting their "for the cure" phrase instead of actually paying for research.

Citing 2011 statistics from the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention, the website reminds us that our country's number one killer is heart disease, and in 2013, Jump Rope for Heart raised $54.1 million.

If you multiply the number of 2011 breast cancer fatalities by 14, you still wouldn't reach that year's number of people who died of heart disease. And yet, in 2012, Komen Race for the Cure took in $257.85 million. That's almost five times as much as the heart disease folks raised last year.

I am a proud American and support our troops and all that, but the "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" card is overplayed by the NFL too.

Flags the size of football fields. All the fans holding up red, white and blue placards. Some pregame ceremonies look like an updated, modernized version of "Triumph of the Will."

How about this? Just play the damn game and stop sucking up to target audiences.

I really do wish the NFL would quit with the pink crap.

You can support women and breast cancer without defacing the jerseys and the game with all the pink crap.

There was a time when a player couldnt wear a white headband with the word "Rozelle" on it, because the league claimed it "defaced the uniform".

Now we have guys wearing pink gloves, socks, elbow pads, etc. If they are going to allow that, they might as well allow paid advertisements on the jerseys too.

Good.

That pink shite has run it's course.
You'd think a mans sport would support a mans disease.

I've actually heard very interesting arguments that breast cancer is considered the "sexy" disease. IIrc, it's got the highest donation per death of all the major diseases.

I know she's right, that's why I couldn't believe it. She's horrifically wrong about everything else.

I don't have a problem with the pink. The women love it and the players love it.

Do they? How would you possibly know this? I would think they honestly wouldn't really give a frick either way.

Just an observation. Pink sweat bands, cleats, etc. It's kinda got some swag to it and these players seem like they like the change of scenery a little bit.
