OT Parents - How many had to induce on first child?

The wife is due today, but all signs are pointing to her having to be induced sometime next week. It seems like this is pretty common with first time mothers.
Any OTers have to induce for their first due to stubborn babies not wanting to make their way out?

No induction with either kid for us
Both were born 2 weeks before due date

3 of our kids were induced. Not sure how it is today, but doctors are reluctant to induce for insurance reasons. Caused my wife to go over due for almost 2 weeks with our first kid. All that does is get the kid fatter and make it very hard on mom.

doctor does something called stripping the membrane to my wife and it usually put her into labor within 24 hrs

Had to induce after we went over the due date by a week. Our doctor is a huge advocate of natural birth but he said he won't let his patients go over a week past the due date.
It is common is first time mothers to go longer than expected and have to be induced.

We induced 3 days before her due date, it was a Friday, and and holiday weekend. Dr said she probably wouldnt make it thru the weekend before going into labor, and she wasnt on call that weekend.

I'm literally in the EXACT same situation as you. My wife is sitting at home waiting to go. Our due date is today, and I don't think I can wait any longer. Good luck, here's hoping everything goes off naturally.

Nope. Number 1 came on his due date
Number 2 was a week late and it was July. Induction was schedule for a Thursday but went into labor on the Tuesday.
Number 3 came on her due date as well.
Number 2 btw is still pretty stubborn. Lol.

Had to induce on the first child. My daughter was 1 week past due and doc said we need to move forward scheduling an induction. It was not a pleasant experience for my wife. We got to Womens at 5:00 am and our child was not born until 9:00pm.

Put it off if you can.

Wife was in labor over 30 hours for first child.
Second child was induced at about 40 weeks.

Inducing was cool because it was easy to prepare for. I knew when the process was starting so I could get all my ducks in a row and prepare myself mentally.
Congrats and good luck!

She was lucky. We checked in at 6pm friday evening and my son was born at 10am sunday. She ended up having to have a section

Be thankful your wife's doctor won't let her go more than 1 week past the due date. Any later increases the risks of serious problems.
