This is the defense of the 2011 team, but born again hard.

If we can only keep those numbers right there after this week...

I heard that Colorado St-Pueblo, a Div II school held Sam Houston to 1 yard in the first half this weekend and beat them like 46-21.

I'm tempering my expectations going forward...

I'll be excited if these rankings are still in place when we start playing someone good.

Great stats against two teams that we are using as preseason games...Wisky put up better numbers, but eventually we shut them down...
Our passing D will be great against anybody...Our run D, well AU & UA will challenge those stats...

2011 comparisons are a little premature to me... but only a little. DT spot has progressed a lot from the opening snap of the season. If we can get someone to play the role Minter did for the 2011 defense, I'll buy it.

Still really hype for this defense. Secondary is absolutely filthy once again.

Has nothing to do with it. Bragging about our current stats is like bragging that you knocked Mike Tyson out...after he becomes a quadraplegic. Not much to brag about...

He's just saying we padded those stats against 2 of 3 weakest teams on the schedule. These guys are better than last year, but they are not the 2011 d rebooted.

this is helped by two teams who well aren't that good. But at the same time our dominace of those two games shows you how good this defense is. We will only get better from week to week. Those rankings will go down after this week, but I still think we will be one of the best pass defenses in the country. Based on the SEC right now we will be high above everyone else with our pass D. I haven't seen a defense who comes close to defending the pass in the SEC like we do.
