the "my kid is dumb" thread on the first page of the OT got me thinking
i honestly would have MAJOR trouble if i had a child of average or below average intelligence
if i had 2 kids and one was on my level, and another was average...i worry that i'd be a terrible parent

I would hope you would invest more time in the average one. But, alas I fear I am wrong.

i try to only bang girls who (1) i wouldn't mind raising a kid with and (2) who would produce a superior kid with me

well my political philosophy is that we should invest our excess resources in the able and superior, rather than waste them on the inferior and unable, trying to help them rise
we all have speed limits. no matter how much i worked with that kid, his "speed limit" would be much lower
plus dealing with him would frustrate me and i'd probably blame myself for something i did to make him/her dumb

and it's against my core beliefs. i doubt i would lie to my kids in such a terrible way
although that isn't terrible, to me, so i don't think it fits in this thread

I think "smart" is something can be developed starting at very early age. It's on the parents.
