Early departures from college will turn around and bite not only the individual college teams, but eventually the NFL itself. NFL policy on early departures.I hope this gets traction.

They are adding more stipulations and limiting the amount of underclassmen per school allowed to declare.

Saban will be with the Cowboys next year so what does he care - Jones and Garrett on the way out, he would have full control

I don't know how this can be legally enforced.

Earlier in the week, college coaches received a memo from NFL Executive Vice President Troy Vincent, outlining a new set of guidelines that Alabama coach Nick Saban referenced at SEC Media Days on Thursday.

Well, if he's already on board/promoting it you may as well call it finished.

they're putting limits on the number of players that can request draft grades, not the number that can declare

They are limiting the amount that can ask for a draft grade not limiting how many can declare.

Here's a novel idea, make players wait another year and push the limit to 4 years out of high school.

They're also changing the way the draft grades are given out to better reflect the new wage scale. IIRC it's 1-2, 3-7, and No Grade (stay dumbass). I doubt it really changes much, NFL teams benefit greatly by getting guys to come out early.

I agree and am on the same side, but most people don't seem to agree. The standard is now three years and gone even if your a RS sophomore and didn't necessarily even have a special season. Unless you blew it out of the water when you played and know you're going to at the very least go top three rounds, why in the world are you declaring?
What does it do for you to go undrafted and bounce from team to team for a few years just to probably get dropped from the league? It's idiotic to me.

That said, if it's a family decision I have no problem with it.

Crazy idea guy here. What does playing a professional sport have to do with university education at all? MLB, Rugby, Soccer, Hockey don't have such stipulations. Only Football and Bball in these United States. Giant coincidence I'm sure.

And this is coming from someone who loves CFB and doesn't give all that many fricks about the NFL.

The boyz are definitely looking to make a big trade this year in hopes of solidifying their high hopes this year, but they couldn't find anyone who take Jerry Jones...
