Flacco was quoted as saying Torrey will eclipse 100 receptions this year. His career high is 65 and that was last year. Plus Kubiak is there. Start him with confidence. Steve Smith's performance last week was a fluke. Pitta and Torrey will go HAM this year

Polamalu is still there... For the time being as a Ravens fan, I like old man Steve Smith earlier in the year. As defenses figure out Smith Sr. is still a legitimate threat and as the running game hopefully soldifies, Torrey is going to be getting some bombs.

Just my opinion on what I think will unfold.

I was kind of thinking take a wait and see approach with him
Flacco s quote was encouraging though
It is between him and Vincent Jackson.

I might have to start him but it won't be with confidence.

I don't either; but I think I'm going to roll him out over Keenan vs Seattle. I'll be back here to bitch Friday morning I'm sure.

He probably thinks players score less points on Thursdays

Do they? Do y'all know something I don't? I've been starting my best players regardless of when they play.

Players score less on the Thursday night games. There is no science behind it but it is a fact I read somewhere. May have to do with the short rest

The obvious reason, if true, would be that they had two days less to rest

I've read the same thing.

Could also be defenses inherently have the advantage over offenses and the offenses have less time to gameplan on a short week.

According to this article, QBs and WRs score a little less on Thursdays, while RBs actually score more.

I'm still not convinced enough to start making start/sit decisions based on when my players play. No need to overthink this stuff.
