I love those games and would like to see an updated version for the pc and consoles. Most of the editions won't work on modern computers without emulation. Anyone else agree???

They could do a hardcore updated version of it, an extremely involved RTS game of survival. Expand the food and supplies management aspect so you basically have to decide who lives and who dies. Occasionally have to defend your convoy against bandit attacks, barely making it to the next town for medical supplies because your meat spoiled and you had no choice but to feed it to the group or else they'd starve.

And zombies.

If you run the oldest version (5.5" floppy) on a computer today, it speeds by.

The next version of the game would do fine.

The Oregon Trail II version would also do fine.
