Because this will be his last year at Georgia Tech. If he makes it all year, I will be surprised
Time for Tech to move on from him

I dunno. He's done pretty good there all things considered. It's Georgia Tech.

Service academy at best. Maybe somewhere in FCS.
He's seems to be married to the triple option so he should go to a place where it will work.

lol didn't know he was still coaching. I'm assuming he's still running that silly offense?

Offensive Coordinator at Penn State. BOOKMARK IT.
And I bet Tech pursues Smart and Pruitt pretty hard.

I don't think it's his offense that's really a problem. Teams are pretty much doing the same thing now, only from the shotgun, and winning a lot.
His big issue is that he doesn't recruit very well and he's in a conference that has teams that do. At a mid major he'd probably win way more consistently imo

An option attack is still viable in college football but he'd be well served to add some spread option looks as well. Nothing against the flexbone mind you but some change ups would help out Georgia Tech a lot.

Agree. He needs to evolve his offense. He is a stubborn individual which is one reason his recruiting is so bad. He has some personal rules that he uses with recruits that I actually agree with but they can not be used in todays world
He is a old school guy in a new school. He will be gone from Tech though

Army?
I don't care as long as we get someone that doesn't give up a 20 pt. lead to Georgia and struggle against Wofford and Tulane.

I think their fans are content with the mediocre crap he rolls out there every year.

All I can tell you is that when he first got to GT, and he had some initial success, I got into here with a few posters. One Prominent poster, swore his offense would work anywhere. I explained that offense had drawbacks and that this wasn't the 1970's.
Anyway, just wanted to gloat.
It's a good offense to use if you're ok with 7-5 records. But you will never be elite running. It.

GT has won a NC since UGA has. Not mention the city of ATL alone supplies enough talent to compete on a national level. It would be a great job for the right coach.

Actually, I don't think so. I believe they are ready for a change. Have you seen their attendance the past few years?
Its time for a change. Paul is failing everywhere. On the field, recruiting, etc. Its time to change the system there..

He's better than Chan who was there before. At least Paul Johnson won an ACC title.
The issue isn't the O that we run or Paul Johnson, the issue is Tech itself. We won't ever get the stud players to match up well against the bigger schools. The admin at GT just isn't interested in that, and unlike the Notre Dame and Stanford, we don't really have many easy majors or easy routes for athletes to take to avoid tough classes at GT, so it's hard to recruit.
Excluding this season:
Paul Johnson is 47-32 with 3 division titles and 1 conference title
Chan Gailey was 44-33 with 1 division title
George O'Leart was 53-30 with 1 conference title
