Same story every year: "You guys aren't giving X opponent enough credit."

We've seen this same nonsense every single year for the past few years with LSU opening against a quality out of conference opponent: TCU, Washington, Oregon, UNC, Washington. "Hey, let's not be so confident, this is a good team, so and so is a Heisman candidate, blah blah blah." And what usually happens? We win easily.

Remember the talk surrounding the Oregon game? Not many people even gave us a chance of winning that game. We came out and dominated.

I see this game going pretty big in our favor. Les gets the team ready for early season OOC games, and this will be no different. Expect a big LSU win with the score, once again, making the game look closer than it actually was:

34-24

I hat ebbing overconfident, but i think the Big !) is historically down right now. This team doesn't play anyone year in and year out.

Melvin Gordon is being talked about a lot like Lamicheal James was.

"TCU, Washington, Oregon, UNC, Washington."

How many of these games do you recall being "easy" wins?

Gordon's a much better pro prospect than James ever was. He's legit.

But LSU smashes Wisconsin.

With Wisconsin they are talking about one player, with Oregon it was the whole superpowered offense.

I wouldn't say we won any of those games easily. They were all closer than they should have been because of stupid mistakes and first game mental errors.

This game will prob be closer than it should too.

Yeah it appears to me the defense has one job--stop Melvin.

Now that you mention it, I haven't really heard much about the passing game.

You gotta feel good about letting our CBs man up, and focus on stopping their run game.

Do you even watch the games? Yea we smoked Oregon.. but a few of these came down to the 4th quarter. Hell, UNC came down to goal line stops on the last play of the game.

Some wisky posters have said teams with good man corners shut them down last year, this is good news.

There will be an exception one of these years.. I keep trying to imagine how bad it will feel to lose to UW and then have to go through 3 weeks of cupcakes before we can finally try and reprove ourselves. Let's just say I really hope we win this weekend

We had that game won early. Silly mistakes let them back in. I was never worried.

I hated how we were cheated against TCU last year. Two obvious PI in the EZ that weren't called, would have gave us 14 more points in the early going.

Score should have read 51-27 or 43-27 at the least.

Same thing with UNC. This time, we get a BS holding penalty in the early fourth that negated a 20 something yard TD by Ridley.

Score should have been 37-24.

I implore to rewatch every single one of those games before the opener in 3 days. Games were never in doubt, and they appeared a lot closer than they actually were. I mean it was still 30-10 at the start of the fourth quarter against UNC.

We played way too many true freshman in the secondary in the fourth quarter (actually we used a lot of second and third string in the fourth. Peterson was cramping, and we were already up by 20, so guys like Reid, Simon, and Mathieu were back there getting the first college play time of their lives. Y'all have to rewatch these games to get a feeling on the situation. Guys getting their first every play time on defense allowed like 200+ passing in the 4th quarter.
