We've seen this same nonsense every single year for the past few years with LSU opening against a quality out of conference opponent: TCU, Washington, Oregon, UNC, Washington. "Hey, let's not be so confident, this is a good team, so and so is a Heisman candidate, blah blah blah." And what usually happens? We win easily.

Uh, not the UNC game- I was there- we almost gave it away

What exactly is humorous?

The Washington game in 2009 was an 8 point game with 5 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.

The TCU game was a 3 point game with 7 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.

We beat UNC by just 6, and needed a defensive stand in the final seconds to avoid losing.

The Oregon game in 2011 and the Washington game in 2012 were blowouts.

So, yes, we only won 2/5 of those games easily.

Im with you on all points except Oregon being a blowout. Did you even watch the game?

By definition, not a blowout. But dominated and won handily.

2011 LSU and Bama were once in a decade type teams. LSU was very close to blowing it against UNC. UNC had Robert Quinn suspended too. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but this won't be a cakewalk.

For me, an LSU game is seriously in doubt when we have to come from behind. I'm infinitely more confident in our D's ability to stop a go-ahead TD, even in our own red zone.

yeah the big TE for UNC dropped a pass in the end zone that would've tied the game in the last few minutes with the extra point to go ahead. In fact that same guy dropped two or three wide open passes in that game.

I love how everyone listens to the media talk and it some how affects their outlook of the game. LSU will stop the run and when they do how will Wisky score? Also these QBs are going to be pretty good with one of the best OLs in the country. LF will break a couple of runs for TDs watch, their D is young and will make a few mistakes and with these backs and OL LSU will take it to the house. The D will cause a TO or 2, TEs get involved, WRs are extremly talented I mean if Cam calls an semi aggressive game we win big.

None of this matters to the game Saturday.

Wisconsin's strength plays against the biggest UNKNOWN on LSU. I won't say weakness because our defensive line is chock full of 4 and 5 star players. But that Wisky OL is the best line we face all season. Melvin Gordon is the best single RB we play all season (Bama has the best RB corp we will play). Clement aint bad either.

If our front four get manhandled, we will lose. Our linebackers are fast on the edge but they are not big and Welter has to actually play better than okay for me to have confidence.

Now, IF Welter ups his game and IF our DL can hold their own, we will win and, barring turnovers on offense, win big.

I think we are going to put up 30+ points on them. I think they CAN (if my ifs prove to be false) put up 30+ on us. We either win 35-17 or so, or we lose 38-31 or so.

Realistically we should win the game.......but in the back of my mind I can't help but thinking we're long overdue for an azz-whipping in one of these opening game marquee match ups! Just hope I'm wrong as shite about that this weekend!!!!!!

Who pushed your button dipschit?

Any LSU fan that hasn't even at least considered the possibility we might get curb stomped is lying....too much young talent with big question marks. We've all been talking schit the last couple of weeks but some folks are just masking their insecurities about this team.

Don't lie thru your teeth and tell me that you totally have no worries!

A 1 dimensional team beating LSU in Houston? Sorry not going to happen. Whether it's close or not remains to be seen but wisky had to replace their front 7. Their RBs are good but won't be enough to beat LSU. They will do good in the first half but LSU pulls away in the second half. And the fans who recently joined to talk smack and pump each other up will get a very depressing wake up call.

Fair enough podnuh.....but the possibility of getting beat is obviously not some pie-in-the-sky fantasy. This team matches up to some of our weaknesses pretty well.
