QB Play In 2014 - Better or Worse Than 2011?

What is your current thought on the situation? Will the QB play be better in 2014 than it was in 2011?

In 2011, you had two seniors, Lee and Jefferson. Both had extensive experience. Both played well at times and both played horrible at times. Neither had a true mentor of an offensive coordinator and QB coach.

In 2014, you have a true freshman and a true sophomore. Neither has any real experience to speak of (excluding one start by Jennings on a rain soaked field and a last minute miracle against Arkansas). Both enjoy the benefit of having an elite offensive coordinator and QB coach in Cam Cameron.

Will this year be better or worse than 2011 from an QB production and reliability standpoint?

Pure speculation but I going with better on Cam's presence alone.

Worse early
Better late

Lee was extremely efficient until the GOTC. After that the QB play deteriorated noticeably. This year the QBs will take their lumps early but improve as the season goes.

We were leading the SEC in passing efficiency under Lee. It's going to be worse outside of the Georgia and bama games

2011 was pretty good until Arkansas.

Better.

Harris and Jennings are both better physically, and mentally than Lee and JJ.

You mean the game when Jefferson threw for his season-high 208 yards?

Does anyone else remember LSU only throwing like 10 passes against OM and still dropping 52 on them? That was probably the most soul crushing defeat I've ever witnessed.

Agreed. Harris and Jennings will be better strictly due to the fact we have a real OC.

Better than what JJ did, but not going to lead the league in QB efficiency through week 9.

I think you mean Alabama. Arky was Jordan's best game.

outside of Bama and the SECCG, we were actually pretty good and efficient throwing the ball. given the inexperience at QB and WR, I could easily see 2014 being "worse" in efficiency and TD passes, but better in YPG.

Jarrett Lee led the SEC in efficiency and had the longest streak for a LSU qb without a pick.

Why the need to make his play as awful as JJs play during that season is really odd to me.

I'll go with worse early...better later as stated earlier.
We just need to not be afraid to throw...picks are gonna happen...The Rant will meltdown when it does....but it will open up the running game for TM/LF.
