Most under-rated place you've been to in US or a place you discovered?

I recently on a long road trip from NJ- KS stopped in North Central Pennsylvania. I got to spend some time in the Poconos and Allegheny mountains. I never even knew they had mountains there. Had a great time, went to Puxutany (found the movie was made in Chicago suburbs which sucked, lol)
But it was a lot of fun and I want to go back to spend more time there. It was like the smokies but without the tourist trap stuff.
Another place I don't see many talk about is Southern Utah. Bryce and Zion canyon have sights that rival the grand canyon and without the crowds.
What are some other places you came across that weren't destinations per se, but after visiting you decided that you HAVE to return?

Well, if I told it wouldn't be near as underrated or nice would it?

Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Beautiful town in the Ozarks with a pretty cool little downtown area. If you enjoy camping and fishing for rainbow trout this place is definitely worth checking out.

I don't know how underrated it is but I have been to Charlottesville a few times in the past two years and I have completely fallen in love with it.

I'm a big fan of the Ozarks. I like doing the spa treatment in Hot Springs as well.
I was planning on going from Edison to Wichita in two days. My grandparents were in our convoy and because of that we had to stop in Lamar, Pennsylvania, Richmond, Indiana, Hannibal Missouri so I got to tool around some areas waiting for them.
I will definitely go back to Pennsylvania for vacation. Been to Pittsburgh and Philly, but never north central.

I don't think the Capital of Texas or the Cultural capital of Texans count, lol

Mentone, Alabama.
One good little restaurant and it's just gorgeous.

I hardly ever hear people say good things about it
I guess if I had to say another it would be Northwest Arkansas or Charlottesville, VA

Chattanooga doesn't get as much love as it should, IMO.

Hot Springs is good stuff. My parents use to take us there when we were younger for family vacays. Lake Ouachita may be one of the nicest lakes i've ever fished in.

Good one. In 20 years that place will be huge.

Pretty sure no one would say Austin is underrated.

Death Valley. Far more interesting than I thought.

I've always wanted to go to Jacksons Hole, WY. Who's been?
