Something docile enough for my 6 year old. And preferably as far south as possible. Anybody know a place?

Man floating the Ouachita would suck. Caddo is a good one.

Caddo would be a great one we used to go with our parents growing up, some of my best memories. Pretty calm river with a couple of spots that would "thrill" a 6 year old.

Any reason you want to go to Arkansas? There are options around Shreveport. Do you have a canoe or kayak?

No I don't. I'm strongly considering just taking her to the water park. We're going to Lake Claiborne on Sunday anyway

I know, but he could put in a tube at a launch, float for a couple hours and get out where he parked his car, a hunnert yards down river.

Buffalo River is a great river to float on and in my opinion is proboboly the best float in Arkansas. Call around to any rental shop and they can arrange any lenght of trip you desire from a few hours to a few weeks and everything in between. Great place.

The lower White river could also be a great option. Again I would suggest calling around and talking to the rental shops in the area. White river has very cool water so it is really nice to float on during the summer. Water is also crystal clear.

Make sure if you do the Buffalo to call around a lot. This time of year several spots are unfloatable.
