A bunch of people are making a big deal about MJ in Brown's system...

Really? Unless it was laced with something, I'm not buying it. How many aggressive stoners do you know? I'm definitely not saying Brown was innocent, but marijuana in his system is circumstantial at best. It doesn't explain "crazed behavior" like many are claiming.

Yeah I was expecting something harder than turned this sweet gentle giant into the thug he displayed on the tape. Maybe MJ is worse than I thought...

I think it's pretty clear, from the earlier store video, he uses his size to intimidate people. He tried to intimidate the cop, not thinking the cop would shoot and he shot... and shot and shot and shot and shot and shot.

I think the only thing it proves is that he wasn't the angel some are making him out to be. It obviously had nothing to do with his violent robbery, other than the fact that it was probably why he was broke enough to steal.

MJ is a quick drug to test for, a more detailed toxicology report will be donr but it takes a couple of weeks. So we don't know what he was on yet.

stories of "bad wax" being spread these days,, maybe he got some dust on his?
part of the problem with the "let's blame mari-jane" crowd is that weed stays in the system far longer than many other more volatile drugs that rapidly break down and disappear from the blood stream.

I don't think many people are using it to explain his behavior. If they are, I've completely missed that.
I do think there are some that think it is a material fact. Others disagree.

it's not entirely false, but the idea that anyone who smokes reefer is going to automatically turn into a drug crazed "jekyl-hyde" monster is also ludicrous.

The only reason why marijuana is a gateway drug is the fact that the guy selling MJ is also upselling other stuff. Remove the association, and the gateway is non-existent.

You had a reasonable observation until your tactic at the end. When cops fire to down a suspect posing an immediate threat they aren't trained to fire one or two shots and then to wait and see.

It's entirely typical for people who check themselves in for drug treatment to identify marijuana as their "starter" drug. The problem is statistics like that don't mean nearly as much as people want to read into them, because those people are often looking to start doing drugs and marijuana just happens to be the most commonly available. So yea, it can be ID'ed as a "gateway" drug, but then so is tobacco, so is alcohol, so are rx pain killers and so forth.
