I feel for you bro. Went through that with my mother. Not fun watching it get worse every day. Hopefully it's not Alzheimer's like my mother had.

Make sure she gets her thyroid checked. That can cause memory issues. Try to stay optimistic and don't assume worst case scenario right out the gate, especially since she's pretty young for dementia or alzheimers. It may be something treatable.

My mom is 67 and has Alzheimer's and it sucks.

Hope it's nothing serious.

Age?

Sorry, I see you answered. Make sure they check for blood sugar issues.

Bump the thread after diagnosis if any of us can help.

If you're in BR, Pennington has a free study for older participants. They'll do cognitive testing first then possibly put her in a study to help keep track of progress. Paul Gates is in it. Even if it's nothing, they'll ask for her to come back yearly

Is it just forgetting things or does she think things have happened that haven't really happened? I'm going through the same thing, so I'm just trying to see where you are in the process.

its just the forgetfulness

we talk on the phone daily (she lives in houston) and when i am getting a recap of her day she tells me things and then 5 minutes later says them again like she doesnt know she already told me that.

Hormones can leave you in a fog. Especially thyroid. Sometimes they run out of things to say so they repeat. Could be some mild depression. You never answered if her neck hurt. Like a bad crick in it. My mom complained of that a lot. Not sure why it was her neck but she did and trying to figure out why. Seems to be common from Google searching for some reason. At least she is in Houston. Their medical is the tits
