we have her seeing a dr next week

Don't just rely on the brief screening tests your family doctor or neurologist might give her, have her get a full neuropsychological evaluation for the most complete picture of her functioning.

when i am getting a recap of her day she tells me things and then 5 minutes later says them again like she doesnt know she already told me that.

My mom is the same way. She is 63 and it is getting very noticeable. She has had thyroid issues for a while, and we think that's it. It started out being annoying, but now it's scary. She has lost a few jobs recently, and I think it has something to do with her memory. She just got another one, so we are waiting to see how that goes.

Let us know how everything goes.

This. If it is something catching it early can make all of the difference in the world so please get her to a doctor TODAY!

Not to make light, but when your memory goes, couldn't somebody write him/her notes like in the movie Momento? Or make a video like in 50 First Dates?

It is not quite the same with Alzheimer's and Dimentia. First goes short term, then goes long term, then goes recognition, then goes speech, then goes body functions.

In the beginning stages something like that may help, but the end game is always a gradual decline.

Hopefully it's not Alzheimer's like my mother had.

I agree. I am seeing the earliest signs of same in ME. I hope it something else for her like maybe side effects from meds.
