Will Thompson become what he was thought to be?

Martin?

Mills really an LSU quality safety?

Will Ricky Jefferson turn the corner and make waves?

Or, will Battle, Adams or Voorhies make an early mark on the scene?

We need some maturity and leadership out of some of these guys.

Who do you think
1) start the season?
2) are the starters by Moo State?
3) are the starters by Bama?

Mills and Jefferson will be really good this season. I think they can contend for All-Conference honors by the end of the year. Thompson is a physical safety who will have a role on this team, but he's a liability in coverage. He just doesn't seem as fluid as some of the others. I think Martin is a similar safety to Thompson, probably a little more athletic but not quite as powerful. He will have a role too, but I don't see him as the full time starter. Adams is going to be an absolute stud. He's such a smooth athlete, but he's behind a lot of guys with experience. Battle seems like a special teams player to me this season.

My final answer is:

1. Jefferson and Martin
2. Mills and Jefferson
3. Mills and Jefferson

Martin has moved back to his natural position at SS. Last year he had to move to FS and struggled. Also has a horrible year outside of football with the passing of his father early on in the season and then getting hurt in the middle of the season. He's gonna have a great year this season.

I think he's our starting SS for the entire season and Mills the FS. But I def see Adams and Jefferson getting PT as well. And the FS spot is a little more open for competition than the SS spot. Really think Martin has it locked down and will be the guy all year long.

I have a feeling about Battle, but what you indicate makes good sense also

Oh I do as well. And I really really like Voorhies. They may get some PT, but seems like they will be ST studs this year and then grow into defensive starters in the future. I really like both. And been very impressed with Voorhies weight and size. Already up to 208lbs and in great shape.

I think Mills and Jefferson is our best combo with Adams subbing in. Voorhies looks like he could grow into a LB.
