So my Samsung 60" LED has a black line going from the top to bottom of the screen, I have the repair folks come out and tell me I need a whole new LCD panel...$1,600 (basically the cost of a new TV). Now the kicker is the TV is 2 1/2 years old.....which is technically out of warranty, but feel in this lifespan that Samsung should do something to make this right. I called the service line again tonight, and they referred me to the executive service call center tomorrow. Is there any hope they will at least meet me halfway?

UPDATE: Samsung did the right thing, after speaking with them and being persistent they agreed to provide a new panel for free and I would just pay for installation.

Well in my eyes if the damn thing breaks after 2 years of use through no fault of my own.....they should do something to fix the situation. If they give me the damn panel at cost, I would accept it at this point.

Why don't you just "expect" them to give you a new tv?

If you used a credit card check and see if it offers an extended warranty. Some do.

Throw it away and go buy a new one. They are disposable nowadays.

You agreed to and accepted the warranty terms when you bought it. They don't owe you shite.

This one cost me nearly $2K....if it was under $1K I wouldn't worry about it.

Well you would think they would stand behind their product a little more. I understand that it was out of warranty, but if they don't make this right I will post on amazon, social media that their product is shitty.

You can buy a new bigger TV for less than that repair cost.

Guess I'm just missing it. I understand the frustration, but two years is long enough for a common mass produced consumer product. Sucks that it broke, I get that, but I can't find reason to drag the company's name through the mud.

If they were trying to disqualify the warranty while it was under penalty over a technicality, that would be one thing, but this doesn't appear to be that. They really aren't screwing you.

Two years is long enough? How am I dragging anyone's name through the mud? I bought a expensive tv and 2 years later it's kaput.....I guess I could call it a warning to other consumers.

I kind of expect this from Samsung products. Awesome products but they just don't seem to be built to last.

Some credit cards offer an extra year on top of the manufacturers warranty. For example, my Chase Saphhire does. Check into that.

It wouldn't hurt to try. Contact them and see what they say.

My truck was well out of warranty when I started having transmission trouble. I contacted Chrysler and they paid for half of the cost to get it repaired. The best part, was that it was considered warranty work, so the dealership couldn't charge me full price for the repair and then I only had to pick up half of that cost.
