Well, at least the Little Dongs are part of Team Yak. Over and under on how long it will last, anyone?

OT response: Till puberty.

OB response: A lifetime. My father paddled me around in a canoe and then bought me one when I was 11. I went 10+ years without paddling anything. Now I'm back, and paddling my father around.

I spoke with an older gentleman on Orange Beach this morning with an inflatable yak that was ten years old. Says he takes all over the southeast and has never hooked it.

He and a friend took it out for the maiden voyage and had a blast. He's already set his alarm to get up early and fish out of it tomorrow morning. We'll see how that goes.

The boat. Being an inflatable, I can see how it'm might meet an early demise - errant hook, sharp stick, etc.

As you can tell by the picture, he's pumped to have the boat and I'd gladly buy him another if this one doesn't last. Good kid who loves the outdoors and I encourage his adventures any chance I get.

Some of these inflatables these days are made pretty tough. Don't know about the one you bought though. Either way, it's a good start
