(possible spoiler redacted)That was a massive deal, but honestly, I really like it. I’m so sick of going on the Internet and seeing all the book readers being snobby, spoiling it for other people, then saying, 'Well, it’s not a spoiler. The books have been out for years.' Like, couldn’t you just stop being mad for a second and let other people enjoy the show?

quote:

Williams went on to say that book readers have a right to feel an attachment to the original story, but they don't need to deride the show or its fans because it is different. She also said that insecurities about "not knowing what will happen next" may be the cause of their hostility.

I approve of this message.

I love reading, but there is no need to be an arse to somebody who hasn't or doesn't.

Not for long, Chicken would ban her. I'm pretty sure she said that she has read the books. See the stickied thread.

I think the hatred for Hodors stems from the book readers being a bunch of masturbating chimpanzees who finally have some inkling of advantage over other human beings and becoming extremely smug about it.

What do you think little fella?

Interesting. Do you know the age of all the sexually questionable females on TV or just Game of Thrones?

Oops. Gotta go. Guardians of the Galaxy awaits.

The myth that he was short stems primarily from the fact that he is listed as 5 feet 2 inches tall at the time of his death. However, this is 5 feet 2 inches in French units. In modern international units, he was just shy of 5 feet 7 inches. Now I know you are saying “well that is still pretty short”. That is true by modern day standards in certain places in the world, such as the United States. However, at the time in France, the average height for an adult male was about 5 feet 5 inches in modern international units. So in fact, he was quite tall for his day.

Noooo you slightly misunderstand comotose Khal Drogos

These are people that are such terrible viewers that they can't remember back 3 episodes or half the casts names but will be the first one to call you a book reader whenever you say something that was a MAJOR event in season 2 that they inexplicably can't remember

*****Spoilers for season 4 if any people that are in the middle of the show are lurking*******

for example: before episode 9 of last season, we discussed when Stannis would make it to the wall

"HOW THE frick DO ANY OF YOU KNOW THAT STANNIS IS GOING TO THE WALL?!!! BOOK READERS!!!"

When in fact they clearly state multiple times during season 3 that Stannis is going to the wall.

**end semi spoilers*

You and I have a lot in common.

I got attacked in the Hodor thread for that very thing. Even one or two of my IRL friends gave me a funny look when I discussed your example with them. I couldn't think of a polite way to say "THEY JUST frickING TALKED ABOUT IT IN THE SHOW!"

I'm about 20 chapters into the second book now - Middle Grounder (Davos) for life.

I moved on to the middle ground thread because i learned about all the stuff about Roberts rebellion (makes the show make 40 times more sense) and my friend started telling me stuff about the books that are different than the show

Plus Jet12 fricked me over in the Hodor thread by bringing up all the Robert Rebellion theories and all I did was explain where she got that information from and everyone jumped on my dick and said I was the one to bring it up. I got framed.

I'm still holding out on becoming a book reader :lol;

I posted without looking. The old stickied thread by Chicken warning that Spoiler for Game of Thrones would cause the banhammer to come out.
