Closing on a lot tomorrow and will probably start construction within the next year. Looking for recommendations of builders on the northshore. I've got a short list but to be honest don't have anything to judge their work by other than pictures on websites. Looking to build a +/-3200 sq ft custom home with higher end finishes.

Considering:
BMI
Ron Lee
Integrity Homes
Highland Homes
Fred Aldridge

Would welcome any suggestions through experience. Want a home that will hold together for the long term. Planning to build what we want for the long-term and would only move if my job required it.

Take a look at Rinaldi Builders before making a decision.

Call the St Tammany Home Builders Association and talk to them

Wouldn't they just give me a list of its members? I searched on their site and got 200+ results, including a one that several people have told me to avoid. Or would someone there give me honest advice on builder reputations?

Try the following:
West Custom Homes - Keith West

Vista builders - josh Braswell

Cypress Bayou Construction - Wayne Herbinger

I looked at all 3 and felt comfortable with all of them.

Skip Rinaldi or Ron Lee of those listed.

Don't call the STHBA, they can't tell you who is good for you; they can only tell you who is good for them to tell you is good for them..

Get it?

We're working with them now in the bidding phase. Really like them a lot and will probably choose them.

Skip is a man of integrity. If he tells you something, you can bet your last dollar he will hold his end of the bargain. You can't go wrong with him, IMO.

Thanks for the input. Much better finding people through reputation than a Google search. I've added a couple others to the list from this thread.

Aldridge is your man here.

He has Mike Vickers doing trim out and there is no one better in West St Tammany and I would imagine, Louisiana. He also has Chris Jenkins doing the framing, last I heard. Chris builds an excellent house.

You seriously should look at Prime Design & Build.

Stephen Ploue owner

I didn't read the entire thread, but if you are talking up scale hone, he's your guy....period.

I know the guy from college and lets just say I was SHOCKED when I saw work he's done there.

Do yourself a favor and look into it.

Facebook page

I think I did that right. It's the facebook page with pictures of some great homes.
