Are there any?? (that won't kill the dog??). Everything I try never works and I'm too cheap to buy the expensive treatments.

Dawn will kill fleas but if you don't treat them they will jump right back on your dog.

Pets cost money. If you can't afford to take care of them, you have no business owning them.

Nothing works aside from the expensive medicine.

If your dog has fleas and you can't or won't pay for something like Frontline, they you shouldn't own a dog.

Advantage.

Dish washing detergent will kill them, but you've got to splurge and get something at the store.

Protip: Don't do monthly treatments. Alternate and use only as needed so they don't build up resistance.

Honestly, take it from someone who tried as many cheaper solutions as I could. I finally just had to spend the money. Home remedies are no match for Louisiana summer fleas. Treat the yard, kill the fleas on the dog, then treat the dog with frontline and/or trifexis. Alternating treatments can be more effective. Then, treat the yard again two weeks later.

I was hoping not to see this, but I think I might have to just bite the bullet. She's 11 and it hasn't been much of an issue until this year...
