I just let the dogs get to them first. That buys me enough time to brew coffee, much less opening a safe.
Your weak arse dog? Dude couldn't bust a grape.

Yes, I have the Gunbox for bedside. It's to keep nosy kids out. Biometric Fingerprint works well. I test it every few days to make sure I can get into it in a panic. Pretty quick. Makes mechanical noise when it opens so it's not silent. Needs electrical connection (has battery backup).

I do not have the top of the line with tracking device. I am glad I have it.

Go to 22:00 mark to see handgun vault recommendations.

The previous 22 minutes contains good stuff about gun safes.

I've got it for sale with the AC adapter and stainless cable for $160.00 if anyone is interested.

There a battery backup or are you SOL if the power goes out?

It runs off a battery for a long, long time. The AC adapter is optional.

I still have this safe, will take $100 if anyone is interested. Don't need it. Works flawlessly, mint condition

None of the brands of these are considered a "safe". It's a locking gun cabinet that could be pried apart with a little effort.

I have this Gunvault and love it. The smaller size makes it easily portable. It slides right under the seat in my truck. I didn't go with the biometric because it was a good bit more expensive.

Do some good research. I hear many fingerprint scanners on those safes have issues with fingers that are sweaty or slightly wet.

Without knowing anything about them, I am concerned about that as well.

I'm gonna be honest, keeping something that is supposed to protect your life in a critical situation locked up inside a safe when that critical situation happens is retarded

Not to mention a malfunction if it happens to not open for some reason, as mechanical things tend to eventually "not work."

I prefer not to have anything that is electrical in something like this. Easy mechanical combo lock is what I would go with.

I have a shotlock bolted to the wall in the closet right next to my bed. They have made some improvements to their stuff, but it is essentially the same thing what's listed here:
ShotLock gun safes

Looks as they are making an electronic one also, but I would like the least chances for something to fail in that time of need. Hence the mechanical lock system
