North Carolina Republicans are allowing people to die to prove a point

SHAMEFUL POLITICS: Portia Gibbs -- a 48 year old citizen from Belhaven, North Carolina who was suffering from a heart attack -- spent the last hour of her life in a parking lot waiting for a helicopter because the nearest hospital was 84 miles away.
WHY? Because GOP leaders in North Carolina refuse to accept the new Medicaid funding under the Affordable Care Act that would have kept her local hospital from shutting down just weeks before.
HOW can these Republicans call themselves PRO-LIFE if they continue to put ideology and partisan politics above American lives?
It's truly a shame to watch how North Carolina is declining.

Read the article. Even the Republican mayor is mad at his party.

Are you going to bitch about 100's of people dying in 10 years when the whole system is bankrupt due to the Medicaid expansion?

When you create threads like this, it makes me sad.

How about the Democrats that forced the funding to be tied to the ACA? How far up the blame tree would you like to climb?

So Bertie's Ambulance Service at 152 E Water street in Belhaven, NC couldn't stabilize her??? I guess thats because of the Republicans too......

From your article.
This is pretty weak, Toddy.
quote:
The law cuts subsidies to hospitals that treat the uninsured, under the assumption that the gap would be offset by increased Medicaid funding. But half the states rejected the federal Medicaid money. On top of that, small hospitals such as Belhaven’s shuttered facility, Vidant Pungo Hospital, face market pressure to consolidate.
This is pretty weak, Toddy.

It's those damn free markets always getting in the way.

UPVOTE for timely and appropriate use of buffoonery. It's been a month of Sundays since I have seen that word used.

Well...BRIGHT SIDE:
When all those people die...there WILL be "shovel ready" jobs at the cemetary

You are so easily duped. It's amazing. Just so easy to prey on your emotions.
